In the wake of the Department of Commerce’s crackdown on illegal banks, President Multiman155 has issued a briefing to the nation, going into detail about how, over the past several weeks, Redmont has seen an increase in “complex scams” involving sockpuppetery, the exploitation of new players, and money laundering. According to President Multiman, the people responsible are a “small but substantial number of complex bad actors”.

Multiman ended the briefing with a call to action, referring to scammers as a plague on society – and to recent action taken by the Department of Commerce as casualties in this campaign of, to use his words, “dealing with [scams] through [the] utmost vigour and focus”.

Some people may think that the government is stagnant, but the recent swathe of DoC enforcement actions is proof directly to the contrary, on the scams front, the wave of asset seizures has continued, with the Secretary of Commerce announcing that Goldman Capital/Elytra Payments faced having its assets frozen for being an unregistered financial institution.

That’s not to say that only overt scams bear the brunt of the Commerce Department’s new powers – not two hours after Goldman Capital was placed under a freezing order – Secretary Theory announced that Pellanth Credit and Banking LLC was being placed under FIEA Receivership due to the misappropriation of bank funds, though Secretary Theory did note: Your deposits are protected.

TRT reached out to Deputy Secretary of Commerce, Planke32, who reiterated the department’s commitment to protecting citizens from illegal financial activity:

“In recent weeks, we have significantly increased enforcement efforts against unregistered banks, fraudulent investment schemes, and other scams operating outside current legal framework. We continue to coordinate closely with the Justice Department and other agencies to identify bad actors, and we encourage any citizen who suspects fraudulent financial activity to come forward. A strong economy depends on trust, and this department intends to keep earning it.”
