Front of the Redmont Capitol.

Representative Antonfr (WPR) has launched a hearing into the removal of the acting Attorney General AmityBlamity from her position two hours after she issued a Nolle prosequi in the case of the Commonwealth of Redmont v Rep. FloofyLunaFox (also WPR).

According to the motion used to launch the probe, the hearing committee will look into the question of why she was not notified of her removal, and in fact why she was fired in the first place. The hearing will also look into why the Nolle prosequi was immediately rescinded by her successor and if the firing was politically motivated.

We spoke to Representative Antonfr:

“[Her removal] came merely hours after Amity moved for nolle prosequi (to dismiss the case) in a lawsuit that could, worst case, unseat FloofyLunafox, a WPR (opposition) representative. Her replacement quickly rescinded the motion to nolle prosequi. I think the timing is rather suspicious, which is obviously why we are initiating such a hearing, and I’m happy the house has welcomed this with open arms.””

The Representative also clarified that this hearing has no intended outcome, and that the main purpose of the hearing is to provide a space for the Multiman administration to be transparent about the removal as well as a space for the House to investigate and, in his own words: “take it from there”

NovaKerbal from the DoJ Union told The Reveille Times:

“Recently it feels like some of the Acting AG pics, specifically Zlost, have been selected based on loyalty to the current presidential administration. Rather than experience within the modern DoJ. We are worried that future AG picks will be someone who has not worked with the department much. We are very willing to negotiate, this should be relatively simple to solve.”
