It was confirmed today by the Department of State that Musclebound was successful in their campaign in the special election to fill the seat left vacant after the removal of former Representative mar_mik, formerly a member of the Freedom Coalition. Musclebound, a member of the Progressive Conservative Party of Redmont, becomes the second member of the party to hold a seat in Redmont’s 37th Congress, joining Representative PluraGlasshouse, a longtime fixture in Redmont’s political sphere. Musclebound ran on a campaign of increasing policing and ensuring law and order in the wake of the crime increase following the “Jaron Wave.”
The Workers’ Party, the party of President Technofied, continues to anchor the governing coalition. Its candidate, antonfr, finished second with a final total of 103 votes.
Finishing third was independent Sergeant__Balls, who was eliminated in the 13th round with 61 votes, gaining upwards of 40 non-first-preference votes from his initial 20 first-preference votes. Sergeant__Balls also ran in the April 2026 House election, finishing eighth with a total of 6 votes. This special election marks a significant step forward for the aspiring politician.
The Labour Party unsuccessfully contested the election with evasium1, who was eliminated in the 12th round with a final total of 37 votes, finishing fourth.
In fifth place was Maxib02, who ran for the Redmont Reform Party and was eliminated in the 11th round with a final count of 27 votes. This election represents Maxib02’s most successful House bid, surpassing their September 2025 vote count of 5, a mark they failed to beat in November 2025 or January 2026.
Other notable participants include the prior holder of the seat, mar_mik, who, now running independently, was eliminated in Round 4 on Borda count against independent robotPastrami. On their new unaffiliated platform, mar_mik failed to meet the vote count they achieved as a member of the Freedom Coalition in the last election, gaining just 5 votes. The Coalition’s candidate, rotcepsni, Deputy Mayor of Aventura, who ran on a platform of expanding revenue streams and town autonomy, was eliminated in the 9th round with a total of 20 votes.
The Progressive Conservative Party’s victory may prove a turning point for Redmontian centrist politics, with the party now tied as the second-most-represented in the House of Representatives. In a time of political turmoil following recent events such as the “Jaron Wave” and its associated effects, the state’s newest legislator enters the legislative branch at an unprecedented moment in its history. With the issues he campaigned on, namely rising crime and a large deficit, at the forefront, it remains to be seen what actions he will take in his first sessions in the House.
