Loose_Leaf_, running under the Labour Party, has won the special election Senate seat by leading with 23 first preference votes in a field of ten candidates, the highest of any candidate by a wide margin.

Vennefly, an independent, finished as the runner-up with 15 first-preference votes, followed by MrCheesGuy, under the Social Democrat Party, with 14, and Robidemon2, another independent, with 13.

The victory is a telltale sign of Labour’s growing popularity within Redmont as in the May congressional elections earlier this month, the party swept every race it entered, winning three House seats and one Senate seat with a party membership of roughly fifteen. Loose_Leaf_’s win now gives Labor a second senator and six total seats in Congress, as RaiTheGuy switched from Independent to Labour, giving rise to a new political party that is just around a month old.
