Outside of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Alexandria in Reveille, Redmont.

The relationship between the Commonwealth of Redmont and the Kingdom of Alexandria is not new, as in June of 2025, President Kaiserin ratified the Treaty of Mutual Recognition and Sovereignty, which formalized the recognition between the two governments, alongside a Treaty of Mutual Cooperation in Fraud Prevention. This new 2026 Treaty Governing Relations builds on these existing treaties by establishing a comprehensive diplomatic framework.

Vice President of Redmont, Scassany Contour announced the signing of the 2026 Treaty Governing Relations, which marked the first comprehensive diplomatic framework agreement made between the Commonwealth and the Kingdom. She stated: “This marks the first of many closer economic and cultural ties with our sister server”. The ceremony was held at the Alexandrian Embassy in Redmont and organized by Ambassador Tortenwashere, which drew many attendees from both nations.

Structure of the Treaty

Besides the usual clauses that have traditionally been included in recognition treaties, the primary concept embodied in the historic document is Multi-Server Territorial Sovereignty (MSTS). According to this concept, the embassy plot, from its bedrock to the building limit, is regarded as sovereign territory belonging to the foreign country. Access to it is granted solely at the pleasure of the hosting country. The ambassador serves as the Head of Mission, and enjoys privileges of building and managing the plot in the host country. The privilege of Sovereign immunity covers diplomats undertaking their official duties, but it must be claimed and cannot act as a blanket immunity in all cases.

There are some practical details as well. Each embassy has a single tax-exempt in-game financial account managed by the Ambassador. This account is a small provision aimed at maintaining a functioning diplomatic presence on a foreign server’s economy. However, it is unclear what the expenses might include beyond wages for embassy staff, which can already be handled on each nation’s own server for their embassy staff abroad. Ambassadors, meanwhile, are barred from holding government positions in the host state or meddling in its domestic politics, a clean separation that prevents conflicts of interest.

Wider Implications

What needs to be decided now next is a purely political question. What will it look like between the two countries on trade agreements and even possible conflicts? Will there be a definite economic policy developed or will the two servers simply develop their relation on predominantly diplomatic level?
